College was founded in 1976, formerly known as Qingdao Maritime School. 1980, approved by the Ministry of Communications, was changed into an adult college and renamed as "Qingdao Ocean Shipping Crew Training College". 1983 was renamed "Qingdao Ocean Shipping Crew College" with the approval of the Ministry of Communications. 20 10, approved by the Ministry of Education, was transformed into an ordinary higher vocational college, renamed as "Qingdao Ocean Shipping Crew Vocational College". In July, 2020, China Ocean Shipping Group Co., Ltd. reorganized and integrated the education and training institutions under the group 1 1, and implemented the unified operation of one team and four brands, using the four names of China Ocean Shipping Group Party School, China Ocean Shipping University, China Ocean Shipping Research Institute and Qingdao Ocean Shipping Vocational College respectively.
