Some schools in China offer the major of funeral makeup artist, but at present, there are very few schools and colleges offering this major in China, and at present, this major is basically offered in junior colleges, such as Changsha Social Work College, Chongqing Urban Management Vocational College, Wuhan Social Work Vocational College and Beijing Social Vocational Management College.

Although this major has been established in our university, it has not been established for a long time. Funeral major didn't enter the university classroom until 1995, and was established as a formal major by some schools.

In my opinion, apart from studying some professional makeup artist and some compulsory courses, the most important thing for funeral makeup artists is to learn how to tidy up their own mentality, learn to respect the deceased and respect this profession. After all, the dead are the oldest. In fact, the profession of funeral makeup artist is not only to make up and repair the bodies of the deceased, so that those deceased can complete the last journey of their lives in their lifetime. I think what they do is to let the souls of the deceased go home completely, so that those relatives can spend the rest of their lives in peace, and only in this way can those relatives offset the pain of losing their loved ones a little.

In fact, this major belongs to one of the unpopular majors, but I think the employment prospects are still quite good. But many people have too many misunderstandings about this major and occupation. Most people will feel scared and creepy when they mention this major and profession, and they will avoid people who are engaged in this profession. But in the final analysis, funeral makeup artists are also a very ordinary job, but what they deal with is something that we China people traditionally taboo.
