Yiyang Institute of Education, founded in 1980, is an adult undergraduate college that undertakes the training, teaching research, teaching guidance and education services of cadres and teachers in primary and secondary education in the city, and is directly under the municipal government. The college is located in the city center, with elegant environment and convenient transportation. There are 76 faculty members in the college, including 3 senior titles/kloc-0 and 30 intermediate titles.

Since 2000, under the guidance of Theory of Three Represents and Scientific Outlook on Development, the Party Committee and the administrative department of the College, on the basis of careful analysis of the situation and in-depth investigation and study, have established a modern education service system that fully supports regional education, with the main line of breaking the traditional pattern of separation of research and training and building a new model of teacher education of "integration of research and training and inter-school linkage".

The overall development plan of "Eleventh Five-Year Plan", which aims at the transformation from the traditional education college to the new education college, has carried out the lifting structure and personnel system reform of the three-turbine car. In order to adapt to the new situation, the college resumed its affiliated middle school in 2000. In 2006, the middle school attached to our college was named Yiyang Renlao Normal High School.
