A brief introduction to modern dance

Modern dance is a sports dance competition. Athletes and men participating in the competition should wear evening dresses, modern dance costumes and bow ties, while women should wear long skirts and formal hairstyles at banquets.

This project group includes five projects: waltz, Viennese waltz, tango, foxtrot and quickstep. Classification of modern dance works

I. Waltz

Also known as round dance, slow waltz, Boston waltz, etc. , is one of the modern dance projects. This is a triple-beat dance. It originated from Austrian folk, and its graceful dance is called "post dance". Its main characteristics are: lifting, swinging, reflexive and tilting are integrated, dancing with beautiful music accompaniment, and the two rotate in pairs, which is warm and romantic.

Second, tango dance

An international standard ballroom dance, which originated in Africa and was popular in Argentina, was later adapted into a national standard tango by European dancers. Music is played in 2/4 or 4/4 beats, with smooth speed, mostly sliding and little fluctuation. Its biggest feature is that when it moves in one direction, its body moves in the other direction (that is, reflexive action position). Note: National tango and Argentine tango are two different dances, please don't confuse them.

Third, foxtrot.

It is a social dance with a unique style. Its music is 4/4 beats, about 30 bars per minute. Moderate music distribution, light and free dance steps, cheerful and dripping.

Fourth, quickstep.

Relaxed, cheerful and lively, it is deeply loved by people. Its music is 4/4 beats, 50 bars per minute, and the slow rhythm usually takes two beats. The dance steps are light and jumping, full of youthful vitality.

Also known as the fast waltz, its main feature is that it keeps spinning and has few steps. The music of Viennese waltz is called waltz, which is 3 beats of 56 bars per minute.
