How to let children study after holidays?
As a primary school head teacher, parents often ask the following questions:

"When will the children in the first grade of primary school be obedient?"

In the first few days of school, every time I chat with the first-grade teacher, I will also talk about this problem.

Yes, the primary school students who just entered the school are all pregnant with the childlike innocence of a kindergarten child. But the requirements of senior one are completely different from those of kindergarten. They need to be quiet, sit still for 40 minutes, try to solve problems by themselves, go to the toilet on time, and raise their hands to answer questions when they hear the teacher's questions. ...

This is a challenge to children as well as teachers.

This is why we often mention that teachers in Grade One are more tired than teachers in other grades.

"In fact, the last week of September is almost over," I usually answer, "but because of the National Day holiday, the children will not be able to settle down again until mid-October."

This is my experience in teaching senior one. In the last week of September, children have gradually learned to abide by discipline and rules, but often come back from long holidays, and many students can't adjust from the state of holidays, resulting in poor class order after holidays.

However, if parents make good holiday arrangements, they can also help their children relax quickly after the holidays. No matter what grade the child is in, he can quickly enter the state after the holiday, which has a multiplier effect on daily study.

Children need the help of their parents to adjust their hearts after holidays.

1 Get plenty of rest

During the National Day holiday, children will feel physically tired while being fully relaxed, so in the first week after the holiday, parents should try their best to let their children rest.

The Core Information and Interpretation of Adolescent Health Education in China (20 18) suggests that adolescents should get enough sleep. Generally speaking, primary school students spend 10 hours a day.

With high-quality sleep, children can have more energy to cope with external challenges; And lack of sleep, not only physical fatigue, but also mental fatigue, it is difficult to have enough physical strength and spirit to participate in daily life.

Therefore, adequate rest is the basis of holidays.

2 light diet

Children's taste buds are not fully developed and their gastrointestinal function is weak, but it is inevitable that they will eat more and more miscellaneous during the holidays. Therefore, in the first week after the holiday, try to avoid taking children out to eat high-calorie snacks and choose a light and healthy diet cooked at home to prevent children from getting sick because of gastrointestinal discomfort or physical discomfort during school.

As the Czech educator Comenius said: "In order to keep healthy, nutrition should be not only moderate, but also light."

At the same time, if the family conditions are sufficient, it can ensure the diversification of children's diet during this period and avoid the phenomenon of unbalanced nutrition and anorexia and partial eclipse caused by a single holiday diet.

3 Adjust mentality

A rare long vacation, not only children, but also parents need to relax, and many families will choose to travel.

When children come back from their travels, they will inevitably feel the huge gap between their present life and their holiday life. Aristotle once said, "Every field of nature is wonderful." In view of the heavy academic burden of children, don't always lock children in front of desks in the first week after holidays. They can choose to get up early or a short time after school to feel the beauty of nature and the changes of seasons together.

Some families will choose to visit relatives and friends during the holidays. After the holiday, children may still be immersed in meeting and parting with their peers. Happiness or sadness are normal psychological manifestations. Parents can chat with their children in their spare time, talk about things around them and talk about topics of mutual interest. Don't rush and blame your children too much. Otherwise, they can easily feel that adults don't understand them, which leads to rebellious psychology.

4 parent-child reading

If you have free time in the evening, parents can spend 10-30 minutes reading some relaxing books with their children.

According to the National Family Education Survey Report (20 18), 33.5% of the fourth-grade students said that their parents would accompany their children to study, that is to say, 66.5% of the children did not have the habit of accompanying their children to study.

Don't underestimate a few minutes of reading every day. Simple parent-child interaction can make children feel the warmth of family, while the pleasure of reading content will make children feel the pleasure of reading, and then cultivate the habit of reading.

After a hard day's study, a few minutes of simple parent-child reading before going to bed will make children feel relaxed, gain knowledge, and fall into a good sleep state more easily, so as to better meet the challenging study the next day.

Don't expect your child to start the motor quickly after the holiday and devote himself to the learning task. The growth of children is a slow process, so is the change of psychological cognition.

Parents can let their children slow down from the fast pace of holidays, discover the joy of life, feel the love of their parents, and restore their previous learning state with a slow but not procrastinating attitude, even doing better than before.
