Shanghai Women's Prison is the only prison in Shanghai where female criminals are held. Located in Sijing Town, Songjiang District. /kloc-0 was established in September, 1995, and 1996/kloc-0 officially put into operation on October 22nd. The object of detention is female prisoners who have been sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment, life imprisonment and suspended sentence by people's courts at all levels in Shanghai. Prisoners 1500 people were held throughout the year. There are more than 300 prison staff, 90% of whom are women.
