If you are going to study abroad, I suggest that you apply for a credit card as an emergency reserve as far as possible, not as a main consumption tool.
Borrowing card
To apply for a card in Britain, you need to prepare a letter of introduction to study abroad. You can consult the international student service center of the school or the international student office of the student union. Please provide your domestic address (English version), name, age, passport number and address in the UK.
Remittance service
After opening an account, ask the bank for BIC and IBAN codes, tell your family account number, and let them remit money through the local service of China Bank, but you have to pay a handling fee.
Major banks
The main banks in Britain are: HSBC, which facilitates remittance in mainland cities; Barclys, which cooperates with China Everbright Bank, offers preferential remittance fees, but the service is average; NatWest, the service is good, there are annual discounts and small gifts for international students; RSB (Royal Bank of Scotland) is more useful to study in Scotland.
