According to the old version of "Regulations on Economic Professional and Technical Qualification", senior economists will be awarded the "Economic Professional and Technical Qualification Certificate" by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security after passing the examination, and there is no need for further education in the later period. The intermediate economist examination belongs to the national professional title examination. After obtaining the certificate, the certificate is permanently valid.

However, the new edition of the Regulations on Economic Professional and Technical Qualification issued on June 8, 2020 mentioned that economic professionals should conscientiously perform their duties, receive continuing education in accordance with the relevant provisions of the national continuing education for professional and technical personnel, and constantly improve their professional ability and level. Therefore, certificates obtained on or before 20 19 do not need continuing education for the time being, and economic professionals need to receive continuing education after 2020 according to national regulations.
