In the past 40 years, the Association has held five member congresses, and the Council of the Association has been replaced five times. This year, the fifth member congress of Shanghai Photographers Association deliberated and adopted the work report of the fourth Council of Shanghai Photographers Association and the report on the revision of the articles of association of Shanghai Photographers Association, and elected a new Council and presidium. Zhang Yuanmin was elected as the chairman, and Wang Rongping served as the secretary-general and vice-chairman of the conference.

Since the new century, the Association has adhered to the working requirements of "being pragmatic, serving and efficient" and actively organized various photography activities for the society and the general membership, which has brought the work of the Association to a new development climax. In the past six years, the Association has successfully held the 7th, 8th and 9th Shanghai International Photography Exhibition, and also held the 9th Shanghai International Photography Equipment Exhibition, Shanghai International Wedding Photography Equipment Exhibition and Shanghai Camera Collection Exchange twice a year. Established, edited and published 38 professional academic bimonthly issues of Shanghai Photography; Held 8 1 photo contest, 32 thematic photo exhibitions, 53 academic exchanges and seminars on various topics, with 2,500 participants. Develop 608 new members and recommend 128 members to join the China Photographers Association. Up to now, there are 873 registered municipal members/kloc-0, including 493 national members. Cui Yijun, a photojournalist of Jiefang Daily, and the photojournalist of Morning Post successively won the titles of "Deyi Shuangxin" of China Photographers Association and "Shanghai Deyi Shuangxin Literary and Art Worker". Zhang, an advertising photographer who won many gold medals in previous national advertising photography competitions, won the China Photography Art Award awarded by China Photographers Association in 2004, which won the honor for Shanghai.

As a group member of Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Shanghai Photographers Association is determined to continue to serve its members, photography clubs, enthusiasts and all walks of life wholeheartedly under the leadership of the Presidium and Party Group of Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and strive to create new achievements.

Shanghai Photographers Association is committed to the development of photography in Shanghai. Since its establishment 46 years ago, about 700 large-scale and influential photography competitions and exhibitions have been held, of which China holds them every two years. Shanghai International Photography Art Exhibition and Shanghai Photography Art Exhibition are the highest-level events in China. In 2002, the 6th International Photographic Art Exhibition was certified by the American Photographers Association (PSA) and the Royal Photographic Society (RPS), the most authoritative organizations in the world. The film exhibition attracted more than 2000 photographers from 32 countries and regions. In 2008, the 9th Shanghai International Photographic Art Exhibition won the authority certification of FIAP (International Federation of Photographic Arts) for the first time.

In order to enhance the friendship with people and photographers from all countries and regions in the world and understand that the Shanghai Photographers Association is constantly carrying out various academic, artistic and educational exchange activities in photography, we invited < Russian Body Art Photography Exhibition >; And other well-known foreign photography exhibitions were exhibited in Shanghai, and foreign experts such as professors from new york University in the United States, German Photography Society, Japanese portrait photographer Gao Qiao Miko and Dutch news photographers were invited to give lectures to outstanding photographers in Shanghai. China Photography Correspondence College and the National Vocational Qualification Training Center for Senior Photographers were also established, which provided photographers with broad learning and communication space.

Shanghai Photographers Association strives to strengthen team building, advocate good ideological and moral character and professional ethics, and advocate members to strive to be "literary and art workers". Xie and Cui Yijun, members of the association, have successively won the titles of Deyi Shuangxin member of China Photographers Association and Zhang, a literary worker of Shanghai Deyi Shuangxin. In 2004, Zhang was awarded the China Photography Art Award by China Photographers Association, which won the honor for Shanghai.

Shanghai Photographers Association founded Shanghai Photography magazine, aiming at establishing a Shanghai photography window, strengthening contact with domestic and foreign photography circles, and promoting photography creation and academic exchange. Since the publication of 1999, the magazine has published 38 issues, which has won high praise in the photography field at home and abroad. It is a photographic academic publication with Shanghai style.
