Animal and plant quarantine specialty of Veterinary College is located in the campus of the school headquarters.

Veterinary College, founded in 1952, is one of the earliest colleges of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University. Its predecessor was the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Inner Mongolia Animal Husbandry and Veterinary College. Colleges and universities have a long history of running schools, and veterinary specialty is one of the earliest two undergraduate majors in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

1In April, 1999, the former Inner Mongolia Agriculture and Animal Husbandry College and Inner Mongolia Forestry College merged into Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, and the College of Animal Science and Medicine of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University was established. In February 2009, it was officially renamed as Veterinary College.

Now it offers undergraduate majors in animal medicine (five-year animal production system), animal medicine (five-year horse veterinary system), animal medicine (five-year pet medicine system), animal and plant quarantine (four-year system) and animal pharmacy (four-year system).

Animal medicine (five-year program) adopts Mongolian and Chinese bilingual teaching, among which Mongolian students account for about 20% of the total number of students in the hospital, and animal quarantine (four-year program) adopts Chinese and English bilingual teaching. The teaching field covers not only the diagnosis and treatment of conventional animal diseases, the prevention and treatment of human and animal diseases, animal pharmacy and biological products, but also the prevention and treatment of ruminant diseases, horse veterinary and other special subjects.
