How to apply for renewal of seaman's certificate online?

1. When the seaman's certificate expires and the seaman needs to go abroad to perform tasks, the seaman's unit or dispatched unit shall apply for the seaman's certificate at the original issuing authority in advance in accordance with the procedures stipulated in these Measures, and return the original seaman's certificate to the issuing authority.

2. When seafarers perform overseas missions, the validity period of the seaman's certificate expires, and the captain of the ship where the seafarers are located issues a written report to apply for the extension of the seaman's certificate to China's diplomatic representative offices, consular offices or other foreign agencies authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The longest extension period shall not exceed three months.
