Applicants for AFP qualification may apply to China Financial Management Standards Committee to take the AFP qualification examination after completing the training, passing the final examination and obtaining the AFP training certificate issued by an authorized educational institution.

There are three ways for AFP applicants to meet the certification standards in training:

1, Standardized Training According to international practice, China Financial Management Standardization Committee will select and authorize qualified educational institutions to train AFP qualified applicants through the principles of openness and fairness, and the educational institutions will issue AFP training certificates. Obtaining a training certificate is a prerequisite for taking the qualification examination. China Financial Management Standards Committee will regularly publish the list of authorized educational institutions. Before China Financial Management Standards Committee officially authorized qualified educational institutions to train AFP, China Financial Management Standards Committee organized well-known experts and scholars in the field of financial management to undertake training tasks and issue training certificates. The training methods provided by China Financial Management Standards Committee include centralized classes and weekend classes. According to the plan, by the end of 2005, popular distance training will be available soon.

2. Challenge An AFP qualification applicant with a doctorate in economic management or economics recognized by China Financial Management Standards Committee may apply for exemption from all training courses and directly take the qualification examination.

3. Applicants with AFP qualification certificate recognized by China Financial Management Standards Committee may apply for exemption from part or all of the training courses.

According to the registration brochure for the qualification examination of International Financial Planner (CFP), Financial Planner (AFP) and Financial Manager (EFP) in July, 20 10, the application conditions for AFP at this stage need to meet one of the following two conditions:

1. A valid financial planner (AFP) training certificate issued by a training institution authorized by Modern International Financial Management Standards (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (including the training institution authorized by the Financial Management Standards Committee of the former China Financial Education Development Foundation) can apply for taking the AFP qualification examination;

2. Those who have a doctorate in economic management or economics recognized by Modern International Financial Standards (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and are exempted from all training courses with their approval may apply for taking the AFP qualification examination.
