Every summer, the Dandelion Teaching Team, Sailing Teaching Team and Sailing Teaching Team under the Association will organize hundreds of college student volunteers to receive comprehensive and professional training, compile detailed and vivid lesson plans, prepare novel and interesting activities, and go to all parts of the country for short-term teaching. Over the years, the teaching team has traveled all over Chengjiang, Yunnan, Dingnan, Jiangxi, Zhanjiang, Heyuan, Zhaoqing, Chaozhou, Qingyuan, Meizhou and other remote areas, and the direct beneficiaries of teaching (students and their families) reached 1.5 million person-times.
2. Love Library Project
Dandelion teaching team is also committed to establishing libraries and book corners for rural schools lacking book resources. Dandelion teaching team has established brand-new libraries and book corners for teaching points such as Wuhua in Meizhou, Lianzhou in Qingyuan and Leizhou in Zhanjiang, Guangdong by collecting old books, buying books for charity sale and subscribing books by college students, bringing precious books to children in mountainous areas and teaching them to enjoy reading and learning. At present, there are as many as 2260 direct beneficiaries of library construction projects (students at school, students who will enter school in the next three years and staff at school).
3. "1+2+3, care for the whole city"
"1+2+3, caring for the whole city" is a large-scale public welfare activity with the theme of "one gift, two touches, three warmth", aiming at organically combining the two aspects of serving the campus and returning to society.
A gift makes the students who received the surprise and the poor students who were cared for moved twice, and makes all three parties, including the students who sent the gift package, feel warm-this is the true meaning of "one gift, two touches, triple warmth".
The first book-giving activity covered Guangzhou University Alliance 13 universities, including Sun Yat-sen University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, South China Agricultural University, Guangdong University of Technology, South China Normal University, Guangdong Business School, etc., with more than 3,000 participants.
In the second stage, the teaching team of Young Volunteers Association of Sun Yat-sen University set up dandelion grants in long-term cooperative schools to help students with excellent academic performance but poor families and reduce their family financial burden. Teaching team members will conduct home visits during the teaching period to learn more about the students' family situation and determine the list of funded students. "1+2+3, care for the whole city" and "help students with difficulties with the funds obtained from the project operation, and realize the purpose of" serving the campus and repaying the society ".
Service neighborhood
Every year at the end of March and the beginning of April, the Young Volunteers Association of Sun Yat-sen University organizes a grand campus volunteer service activity-serving a street. At present, the activity has been successfully held for nine times, which has won unanimous praise from teachers and students and achieved good response. The number of participants in each activity has reached 5,000.
Serving a street, adhering to the purpose of "serving the campus", starting from the real needs of teachers and students, includes all large-scale clubs and their brand activities in CUHK, providing an excellent platform for students to communicate and enjoy. Over the years, the on-site stall activities serving a street include: Kongming Lantern making, green truth card, photo art design, "paper for you", computer maintenance, medical knowledge broadcasting, on-site free clinic, turning waste into treasure, tourism consultation, interesting ringtone factory, Q portrait, bicycle maintenance, glasses cleaning service, psychological consultation, life knowledge introduction and other wonderful and rich activities.
5. Bamboo Dragonflies Help Disabled People
The "Bamboo Dragonfly" project aims at caring for and helping the disabled, taking Kangyuan Station as the radiation point and extending to the surrounding life of the community where the occupational therapy station is located. The homophonic "bamboo dragonfly" means "helping others and enjoying themselves", "representing a sunny day full of hope and sunshine" and "establishing mutual listening for spiritual communication".
In view of the fact that many activities to help the disabled only start from a certain aspect of the physical or psychological level, the project adopts a new model of physical rehabilitation and psychological comfort. Students of Sun Yat-sen Medical College who have professional physical therapy knowledge make special treatment plans for different disabled people, and take practical and effective actions to care for disabled people and help them recover and grow up, hoping that they will "fly freely and proudly in their brilliant sky like bamboo dragonflies".
6. Autumn is warm
Under the social atmosphere of advocating respect for the elderly and love for the young, the Young Volunteers Association of Sun Yat-sen University organizes 150 volunteers to weave silk scarves every year, offering love and blessings to the elderly in the community, so that the elderly can feel the care from others and society and feel the warmth of winter in the cold autumn. The cumulative number of beneficiaries of this project is 320. By calling on volunteers to knit scarves, this activity greatly exercised the students' practical ability and helped them understand the living conditions of the scattered elderly. In the scarf sending activities, volunteers played an active role in creating an atmosphere of helping and loving the elderly. While sending scarves and couplets, the old people felt the concern of their classmates.
7. Warm Heart Action
This activity is aimed at children with autism. A group of six people is responsible for a family and can communicate with children in batches. They can help their children do their homework, chat and play games at home, or play ball games, ride bicycles and visit school attractions outdoors.
Through the contact and communication between volunteers and autistic children, we can understand the psychology and lifestyle of those children. Through communication and interaction, they can become familiar with volunteers and even become good playmates and friends, thus entering their inner world and making them more easily integrate into our world. On this basis, try to teach them a certain degree of self-care ability (depending on different situations) so that they can live independently.
At the same time, the activity also makes college students in China and more people in the society care for autistic children, so that they can be understood and respected by more people.
8. Enter the third year of high school and act in the sun.
As a brand activity of the Young Volunteers Association of Sun Yat-sen University, Sunshine Action has gone through more than ten years since it entered the third year of senior high school. Successfully held exchange activities in several senior high schools, entered the third year of senior high school, exchanged learning experience and test-taking skills with junior high school students through a series of activities such as classroom lectures, theme salons and outdoor development, adjusted students' mentality, walked through the third year of senior high school happily and firmly, and defeated the college entrance examination.
The Young Volunteers Association of Sun Yat-sen University has established long-term cooperation plans with many schools, and has rich experience in activities and a mature leadership team. The scale and popularity of the event can attract thousands of students to participate in interviews every year, and we select 200 outstanding students to participate in exchange activities every year.
Entering the third year of senior high school, Sunshine Action has followed the consistent characteristics of Youth Federation activities and successfully integrated public welfare, social influence and interactivity. Thanks to the efforts of the Association, the annual solar activities have made great strides in quality and operation mode. We believe that with the support and attention of the China Youth League and all walks of life, this year's solar activities will successfully surpass previous years, so that more high school students can enjoy the sun and more volunteers can join the ranks of the sun.
9. Massage team free clinic
Massage Team is a characteristic team under the Young Volunteers Association of Sun Yat-sen University, which was formally established on September 20 10. As a team with on-site substantive service ability, the massage team adheres to the concept of "sincere and conscientious, perfect service", is pragmatic and innovative, and makes unremitting efforts to build a brand team with "professional technology, first-class service and wide influence".
So far, Massage Team 1 has opened many massage service points inside and outside the school, and organized 40 volunteer services before and after. The service covers Sun Yat-sen University East Campus, South Campus, South China University of Technology, Zhou Xiao, Changzhou, Shayuan Street, Sushe Street and other communities, with about 2,300 direct beneficiaries, bringing tangible health benefits to college students and community residents.
10. Justice Education Action
The Young Volunteers Association of Sun Yat-sen University actively mobilizes college students' enthusiasm for public welfare, publicizes the spirit of volunteerism, and organizes volunteers to provide after-school counseling for school employees, community migrant workers and disabled children in their spare time. On the basis of regular classes, a series of activities such as "volunteer training", "weekend interest classes", "home visits" and "graduation ceremony" were carried out. Through the rich after-school teaching mode and the patient and serious teaching of volunteers, let the children bravely go out of campus and school and broaden their horizons.
At present, the Young Volunteers Association of Sun Yat-sen University has signed a contract with the Jin Yan Service Corps to launch the "Jin Yan Primary School Hall", cooperated with the Jishan community in Zhuhai to carry out the compulsory education in Jishan, and carried out the compulsory education of caring for the children of school workers and five classes in schools to further care for the growth of the children of migrant workers. Every year, 600 volunteers participate in the project operation, and the direct beneficiaries (children, parents and community social workers) are about 300 people.
