At present, the Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering has four departments, namely, department of mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering Department, Building Intelligence Department and Automobile Engineering Department, and experimental centers, as well as teaching and research institutions such as Mechanical and Electrical Research Institute and Building Intelligence Engineering Department. 1980, the mechanical and electrical college began to set up the undergraduate major of mechanical manufacturing, and it has been nearly 30 years of undergraduate education. It has successively set up undergraduate, junior college and professional directions such as mechanical design, manufacturing and automation, numerical control technology, modern automobile technology, electrical engineering and automation, electrical machinery and appliances, and building intelligence.

Following the trend of advanced manufacturing technology, the Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering has built a relatively complete practical training base inside and outside the school, with four experimental centers: mechanical experimental center, electrical experimental center, automobile experimental center and intelligent building. Good training facilities create good conditions for cultivating students' operational skills, mastering modern scientific and technological knowledge and enhancing their employment competitiveness.

The School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering has a team of teachers with reasonable structure, active academic thinking and high professional quality. There are more than 50 faculty members, including full and associate professors 16, and more than 80% of the teachers have doctoral and master's degrees.

Over the past 30 years, the Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering has trained a large number of advanced applied technical talents for the society. Because of the emphasis on the improvement of students' comprehensive quality and the cultivation of their application ability, students are required to master a variety of skills to meet the needs of employment. Graduates are affirmed and welcomed by employers from all walks of life, and the demand for undergraduate and junior college graduates is in short supply.
