Performance improvement technology is a bridge between training and business. The so-called performance improvement is the process of systematically analyzing the causes of the performance gap and taking targeted cost-effective measures/solutions to eliminate the gap.
Generally speaking, there are three sources of training "pressure points". First of all, there are some performance problems in the organization that need to be improved. Such as declining sales performance, rising customer complaint rate, frequent employee turnover, frequent quality accidents, etc., these performance problems will affect the normal production and operation activities of the company, or reduce the overall operational efficiency of the organization, which is bound to become a headache and worry for business department managers. If the training department wants to play the role of "business partner", it must participate in the discussion of the root causes of similar performance problems and the formulation of solutions, and think about what auxiliary roles training can provide.
Second, some changes have taken place in the organization. These changes range from major business decisions such as enterprise transformation, mergers and acquisitions, reorganization and strategic alliances, to the renewal of certain rules and regulations or operational processes, or the introduction of new equipment and facilities. To accept new things, we must have new ideas and skills, and training is very useful in these fields. Third, there are always higher expectations in the organization. For example, the expected performance is rising, the management system is improving day by day, and the quality of employees keeps pace with the times. Although there are no obvious business problems, organizations must challenge higher goals for long-term development.
