Qingyuan is a third-tier city.

Qingyuan, also known as Fengcheng, is a prefecture-level city in Guangdong Province, located in the middle and upper reaches of Beijiang River. As early as the Neolithic Age, our ancestors thrived on this land and created a splendid prehistoric civilization.

Qingyuan City is located in the north-central part of Guangdong Province, the middle reaches of Beijiang River, the south side of Nanling Mountains and the Pearl River Delta. Guangzhou and Foshan in the south, Hunan Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the north, Shaoguan City in the east and northeast, and Zhaoqing City in the west and southwest. The north-south distance is 190km, the east-west distance is about 230km, and the boundary line length is 1200km. The total land area of Qingyuan City is10.9 million square kilometers, accounting for10.6% of the total land area of the whole province, and it is the largest prefecture-level city in Guangdong Province.

Since the Ming Dynasty, Yao Opera House has become a large-scale cultural activity to expel Yao people from Qingyuan, and it is also a folk event to commemorate ancestors, recall history, celebrate harvest, spread knowledge and entertain the masses. It has a history of more than 600 years. In May 2006, Yaoge Hall was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative projects.

2. Yao Long Drum Dance

Yao's Long Drum Dance is mainly distributed in Paiyao inhabited area in Liannan Yao Autonomous County, Qingyuan, and belongs to a festive dance in the square. On traditional festivals such as the Spring Festival, March 3rd, June 6th, October 16th, and karaoke bars, compatriots from Paiyao gather in the square in front of the village or in the harvested fields to blow horns, beat gongs and drums to celebrate the festival. There are 36 sets of performances of Changgu, which can be divided into single dance, double dance and group dance. There is no limit to the number of group dancers. The more people there are, the warmer the air is. Dance is characterized by rough and powerful movements, bright rhythm and agile movements.
