The Montessori Education Law, founded by Italian psychologist and educator maria montessori, is characterized by emphasizing independence, limited freedom and respecting children's natural psychological, physical and social development. More than 20,000 Montessori schools around the world (data 20 10) practice this educational method, serving children from birth to 18 years old.
At present, Montessori education in China is still in the development stage, and the level of preschool education institutions is also uneven. Although some of them are named "Montessori", they are not necessarily authentic Montessori education. Even in Shanghai with the highest degree of internationalization, there are few pure Montessori kindergartens and early education centers, and even fewer Montessori preschool teachers with international authoritative certification certificates. According to statistics, among the existing preschool teachers in China, less than 5% have Montessori teacher qualification certificate with professional certification.
So, how to tell whether a Montessori kindergarten is pure or not? What reference standards do parents have when choosing schools for their children?
"I first learned that Montessori education was seen in an advertisement of a high-end real estate, and I learned that Montessori education is a high-end configuration in the field of early childhood education. Now the child is over 2 years old. After many comparisons, I want my children to receive Montessori education, but I haven't found it around, and the information on the map is scattered.
If there is a list of Mongolian gardens similar to "public comments", parents can directly query and view the evaluation, which is much more convenient as a reference! "
It is because of hearing parents' voices repeatedly that Teacher Yang Wei, the founder of CMI (China Montessori Teacher Certification Alliance), began to consider the realization of this idea, so the project "Pure Mengyuan China Map" came into being.
"China Pure Mongolian Garden Map" aims to integrate Montessori education industry resources and gather pure Mongolian gardens all over the country. Through on-the-spot investigation or video inspection by a team of experts with authoritative international permission, it is screened according to the CMI standard of Mongolian garden certification, and all certified gardens are issued with annual certification licenses.
Up to now, there are 49 "Montessori Standard Gardens" certified by CMI, which are mainly distributed in Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Changchun and other cities, and will be continuously updated every week and gradually extended to all parts of the country. Parents and friends can directly check the list of CMI-certified Mongolian parks in CMI official website (http://www.cmi.ren/), and the contact information, detailed addresses and class settings of each park have been publicized (the introduction of each park and parents' comments on each park will be improved later).
A pure Montessori preschool education institution must meet several elements: 1) environment and class setting; 2) mixed-age teaching; 3) Students can freely choose activities; 4) Specialized Montessori teaching AIDS; 5) uninterrupted learning period; 6) AMI/AMS/CMI certified teachers who have received professional Montessori education and training.
In China, there is still considerable room for the localization of Montessori education, but the circle of word-of-mouth communication is relatively limited. The purpose of creating "China Pure Mongolian Academy Map" is to "get rid of the false and keep the true", save the time cost for parents to choose schools, and at the same time, link with industry veterans to spread pure Montessori education.
Subsequently, CMI will certify more pure Montessori Gardens nationwide, so that more and more children can benefit from such high-quality education, devote themselves to standardizing and leading the implementation of conservation policies and measures, and provide operational basis and standards for the development of Montessori education in China.
