Do you know the different visa types for studying in the United States?
Understanding different visa types is the key to studying in the United States. B 1/B2 visa is suitable for short-term business or tourism, not for study purposes. International students usually choose F- 1, M- 1 or J- 1 as non-immigrant visas. Below, we will introduce the application scope and requirements of these visa types in detail.

F- 1 visa

F- 1 visa is the most common visa for international students, and it is suitable for studying in schools recognized by the US government, including universities, colleges, private secondary schools or English learning programs. If you study more than 18 hours per week, the F- 1 visa is also applicable.

M- 1 visa

M- 1 visa is suitable for studying or training in American non-academic or vocational education institutions. If you want to study a certain craft or skill in the United States, or attend a certain vocational training, you can choose M- 1 visa.

J- 1 visa

J- 1 visa is suitable for visiting scholars to exchange. If you are a scholar, professor, researcher, or participate in some kind of exchange program, you can choose J- 1 visa.
