Shenyang, known as Fengtian and Shengjing in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city, provincial capital city, sub-provincial city, megacity and the core city of Shenyang metropolitan area under the jurisdiction of Liaoning Province, a central city in Northeast China, and an important national industrial base and advanced equipment manufacturing base approved by the State Council.
Shenyang is a national historical and cultural city, the birthplace of the Qing Dynasty, and is known as the birthplace and capital of emperors in previous dynasties. 1625, the Qing emperor nuerhachi moved the capital here, and Huang taiji built the capital again to establish the Qing Dynasty in China. Shenyang jumped from a military stronghold to Shengjing Imperial City, one of the two major capitals of Qing Dynasty, and began to become the central city of Northeast China.
