Introduction of Jiangnan University:

Jiangnan University, located in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, is directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), a national "2 1 1 engineering" key construction university and a world-class discipline construction university.

1952 the food industry department of Nanjing institute of technology was established by relevant departments of Nanjing university, Fudan university, Wuhan university, Zhejiang university and private Jiangnan university; 1958, the whole department moved eastward to Wuxi and established Wuxi Institute of Light Industry.

1962 Wuxi Textile Vocational and Technical College merged into Wuxi Institute of Light Industry;
