General situation of Guangdong Chao Theatre
Guangdong Chaozhou Theatre, established in 1958, is a representative unit of Chaozhou Opera, with the nature and functions of creation, performance, demonstration, cultivation, research and cultural exchange.

Since its establishment, Guangdong Chao Theatre has successively created, arranged and performed a number of outstanding plays, such as Chen Sanwu Niang, Continuing the Story of Li Jing, Su six niang, Ci Langzhou, Yang Lingpo's Debate, Window Sweeping Meeting, Wood House Meeting and Noisy Wood. Among them, nine plays, such as Burning Linjiang Tower, Su six niang, Tell My Husband, Li Jingji, Naokeng Kaifeng House, Wang Jinjiu, Zhang Chunlang's bun, Fireworks Girl and Champion Lang, have been filmed into films and opera art films, and a large number of performances have been made into audio-visual products for distribution at home and abroad.

Since 1957, Guangdong Chao Theatre has performed in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Xiamen and other places, and has been widely praised. In particular, he went to Beijing to perform four times, and all of them returned with honors and were cordially received by party and state leaders. Overseas, Guangdong Chaozhou Theatre has a wide range of social influence. It has organized more than 60 delegations to perform in Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Australia, France, the United States, Hongkong, Taiwan Province Province, Macau and other countries and regions, making Chaozhou Opera a "bridge and link" to enhance the nostalgia of chaozhou people and promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.

Since the reform and opening-up, Chaozhou Opera has made great achievements in repertoire creation, such as Zhang Chunlang's Haircut, Yuan Chonghuan, Babel and Di Qing, Sanxiang Tea Shop, Grandpa Chen's Way of Choosing a Wife, Soul of the South, Yue, Fireworks Girl and No.1 Scholar Lang, Love and Hate at the Border, and Veterans Returning to China.

Guangdong Chaozhou Theatre is a place where talents gather. In the 1950s, most of the masters of the six classes of Chaozhou Opera were concentrated in the theater. Since the early 1960s, graduates from some Shantou drama schools and universities or specially trained artistic talents have been continuously transported to various departments of the theater. After the Cultural Revolution, Chaozhou Opera resumed its organizational system, and the older generation of artists, such as, and so on, practiced it. A new generation of young and middle-aged artists, such as Chen Xuexi, Fang Zhanrong and Zheng Jianying, have become leading figures. In recent years, a number of young artists have emerged.

At present, Chaozhou Theater in Guangdong Province pays close attention to art construction, strengthens management, and strives to make new contributions to the development and revitalization of Chaozhou Opera. 1. Undertake the tasks of Chaozhou Opera repertoire creation, artistic theory research, collection, arrangement and filing management of Chaozhou Opera historical materials;

2. Cultivate talents in all aspects of Chaozhou Opera, such as directors, screenwriters, actors and performers, to play for the people and serve the artistic production and construction;

3. Do a good job in artistic production, rehearse plays, implement quality strategy, inherit tradition, make bold innovations, rehearse more quality Chaozhou operas that the people love, and actively participate in major national, provincial and municipal artistic activities to meet the growing spiritual and cultural needs of the people;

4. Carry out cultural exchanges with foreign countries, expand the overseas performance market and expand the popularity of Chaozhou Opera;

5. Be responsible for the operation and management of Huiru Xie Chaozhou Opera Art Center.
