In order to successfully obtain CMA certificate, you need to pass all CMA exams and pass the certification of academic background and work experience.
1, academic certification
You need to meet the following requirements:
-Holding a three-year full-time college diploma recognized by the Ministry of Education, or
-Hold a bachelor's degree certificate recognized by the Ministry of Education, or
-holders of master's degree certificates, master's degree certificates, doctor's degree certificates and doctor's degree certificates recognized by the Ministry of Education.
You can choose to submit one of the following materials for certification:
(1) Provide the original notarized document of graduation certificate or degree certificate issued by a domestic notary office, with English explanation on the original notarized document: If you hold a three-year full-time college degree, please provide the original notarized document of graduation certificate; If you hold a bachelor's degree, please provide the original notarized document of the degree certificate.
(2) If you have a bachelor's degree or above, and your school is in the list of institutions that we don't need to evaluate, you can provide the original transcript with the official seal of the school or institution, instead of a notarized document, and attach a copy of your degree or diploma and the original transcript.
If you are studying in a foreign university, you can choose to submit one of the following materials for certification:
(1) If your school is on the list of some international institutions recognized by us, there is no need to evaluate it. Please mail the original of your report card to Ms. Amy.
(2) If your school is not on the list of recognized foreign institutions, your degree certificate or transcript must be evaluated by an independent institution listed on the following website:. org。
2. Work experience proves that
You need to have 2 years of continuous working experience in management accounting or financial management. Work experience can be completed before the application or within 7 years after the examination.
The verification of work experience depends on whether you have ever held a position that requires you to use management accounting and financial management principles to make judgments. Such positions include financial analysis, budgeting, management information system analysis, financial management, auditing in government, finance or industry, management consulting, public accounting auditing and research, teaching or consulting related to management accounting or financial management.
Occasionally, the application of management accounting principles (computer operation, promotion and sales, production, engineering, personnel and comprehensive management) does not meet the requirements of qualification verification. Similarly, the experience of internship, internship, clerical or non-technical positions can not meet the requirements.
Please download the application form for work experience identification and fill it out completely in English as required, without blank items. You can fill in the form directly on the computer and print it out for signature, or you can print the form and hand-write all the information for signature. We will randomly verify your work experience.
In order to ensure that your work experience certificate form successfully passes the examination and shorten the examination time, please fill in the following contents in English:
(1) member name (pinyin, in the order of first name+last name);
(2) Fill in your IMA membership number;
(3) The total number of months you worked;
(4) The starting time, working months, company name, job title, specific job description, company address, company reference name, reference contact information, e-mail address and other information of each job;
(5) Please note that only the Chinese Pinyin of your name can be displayed on the certificate, not Chinese characters;
(6) Sign your member's name and date at the end of the form (pinyin and Chinese name are required);
If your certification form does not meet the requirements, we will need you to fill it out again, which will delay the progress of data review.
Submission method of education and work experience information
-Proof of educational background: mailed to IMA China office.
-Proof of work experience: mail it to IMA office in China or email it to tfeng@imanet.org. Please note that the scan is clear and tidy.
Proof of education and work experience can be submitted after passing the exam, or before or at any time during the exam. When you mail the document to IMA China office, please attach another piece of paper, indicating your membership number, Chinese name, mobile phone number, Chinese mailing address and other information, so that we can contact you. In addition, please indicate "Certificate of Education/Work Experience" on the envelope.

On the basis of meeting all the above certification requirements, you will get CMA certification number issued by IMA. With this certification number, it means that you have obtained CMA certification. The CMA certificate will be sent to you within 6-8 weeks.
Professional further education
To maintain the validity of CMA certificate, it is necessary to complete 30 hours of continuing professional education every year, of which 2 hours must be related to professional ethics.
IMA and authorized training institutions provide a series of management accounting courses specifically for the internal work of companies and enterprises. You can choose online learning resources, webinars, live activities and conferences to learn.
Projects organized by American Institute of Management Accountants, its committees and chapters, employers, enterprises, educational institutions, other professional accounting organizations and trade associations will receive class credits. Learning courses can be regular university courses, seminar courses, seminars or technical meetings under the guidance of lecturers, teachers or seminar leaders. Educational methods can include lectures, seminars, case studies and teaching AIDS (such as training slides, videos, audio tapes and computers). Correspondence education courses, lectures, and technical papers can all get credits after inspection. A project must be properly organized and guided to meet the demand. The projects organized by organizations registered with the American Association of Federal Accountants (NASBA) also meet the requirements of continuing education for certified management accountants.
Please note that CMA certificate will be invalid if CMA fails to pay the membership fee or meet the requirements of continuing professional education hours.
