When Dawa Yang Zong Sherpa told her family that she wanted to be a mountaineer, everyone took it as a joke. Although there are many men in her village to explore Mount Everest, it is far-fetched for her to just think about it.
Her family asked her to stay at home, grow potatoes, collect cow dung and help her parents with farm work. Yang Zong said, "Life is too monotonous. I feel trapped in a circle and I want to go out. "
In order not to be trapped in this circle, she left her village at the age of 13. From then on, she never looked back. In the past 17 years, she has won a lot of fame for herself. Dawa Yang Zong realized her lifelong dream of climbing Mount Everest and led an international expedition, becoming the first internationally recognized female mountaineering guide in South Asia. On 20 19, she joined the Northern Group as an athlete and climbed with Conrad Anker and other legends.
Now, Dawa Yang hopes to pave the way for the younger generation of female climbers. For those female climbers from remote areas of Nepal, she hopes that they will no longer suffer from the problems she encountered.
"I will try my best to help these girls," she said.

Dawa Yang Zong was born in Na Village, a small village in Nepal's Jowar Valley. At the age of 6, she moved to Kathmandu and spent her childhood with her uncle. But at the age of 10, due to inevitable factors, she returned to the village.
She has been curious since she was a child. After living in Kathmandu, country life became too primitive for her. She wants to escape, play and travel, but the mountain village is surrounded by mountains, and she has nowhere to go except housework.
"Growing up in the village, I began to hate mountains. We have no running water and electricity. Life is so boring, I want an adventure. "
Finally, this adventure appeared. At that time, there was a trekking team going to Khumbu Mountain via Zhaxilafu Pass in Zhaxila, and it needed backpackers. Dawa Yang Zong said that she could become a backpacker, then lie to her parents and leave to join the team.
Although she is very young, she is very strong, and rural life gives her a good opportunity to exercise. However, it is not easy to walk in the mountainous area above 5000 meters, and she also suffers from slight altitude sickness. This time, she made some money, then left her village and bought a plane ticket to Kathmandu.
In Kathmandu, she lives with her cousin. She went to school, but soon dropped out of school because she was not interested in school life. She saw how respected and admired the hiking guide was, so she made up her mind to be a hiking guide. She knew that she needed to improve her communication skills, so she took an English course.
Dawa Yang Zong got her first chance at the age of 18, when she was assigned to her first hiking tour group, a team from France.
"It feels great to walk with the team. My friends call me sardar. They were impressed by my ability. "
However, she longed for more. She began to take part in cross-country running. Then, she realized that the prospect of cross-country running was rather slim. After that, she stopped cross-country running and continued to be a hiking guide.
"After a while, being a mountain guide began to be a bit boring, because I knew many people who like mountain climbing, so I started to take mountain climbing courses."

Dawa Yang Zong first received training from Nepalese Mountaineering Association in 2009. On 20 10, she found the Khumbu Rock Climbing Center and participated in their ice climbing training. There, she caught the attention of Conrad Anker, the founder and adventurer of KCC. He asked her if she was interested in climbing Mount Everest with members of the North spinous process and the National Geographic team. When she was a child, she dreamed of climbing Mount Everest, so she accepted the proposal without hesitation.
In the spring of 20 12, Dawa Yang and the mountaineering team climbed to the top easily, and this job also earned her the first bucket of gold in her life. "I don't know who they are. For me, they are just customers who pay me to climb Mount Everest. However, later I realized how great they were. "
Although Mount Everest is difficult, it is not so daunting. Before that, Dawa Yang Zong had climbed a mountain like Amar Dabram as a training ground. However, Everest gave her a different perspective. She is one of the few Nepalese women who have reached the summit of Mount Everest. This also prompted her to become the best female climber in Nepal and decided to start her tour as a mountain guide.
"I earn more than my friends who are nurses. They would tell me to invest my money in gold or stocks, but I decided to invest my money in myself and become a better climber. "
After climbing Mount Everest, Dawa Yang Zong went to the United States to work with the rangers on Mount Rainier. There, she learned about IFMGA and why people spend thousands of dollars on this course.
"This is obvious. I just want to be trained. "

20 13 she attended the first part of the training. However, Dawa Yang Zong made a mistake when climbing Mount Rangsha Ri, which made her collapse. As part of IFMGA training, she is taking the final exam of the course. At that time, she climbed to the top with her clients, and everything went well.
"I am very nervous, because if I pass this exam, it means that I need to pass the exam again before I can become the first international female mountaineering guide certified by IFMGA in Nepal."
However, fate has other plans. She almost failed. She left the ice pick at the top of the mountain, which was a big deduction.
"I am very angry, which makes people feel very depressed."
Disappointed Dawa Yang Zong knew she had to go back. However, before that, she had other plans-the savage giant peak K2. Although people advised her not to go, she climbed K2 with Pasan Rimu Sherpa Akita and Maya Sherpa, and they became the first all-female team to climb K2 in the summer of 20 14.
Climbing K2 has given Dawa Yang a new vitality, which makes her more hopeful to complete the IFMGA course and become the first internationally recognized female mountaineering guide in Nepal. In autumn, she finished the exam that she failed before. But in order to complete the whole course, she still needs to take the final exam of 2 1 day.
In 20 15 years, she spent most of her time in the United States, constantly changing jobs to pay for her tuition. At this time, she is still far from climbing the mountain, but the climber in her heart did not let her give up.
"I could have given up like most people. However, I still want to make greater achievements. "
On 20 15, she heard that Alpine ascens International, an adventure organization in Seattle, was looking for a mountaineering guide, so she applied for their audition. Although she screwed up several times, the company gave her the job and she has been working with them ever since.
However, Dawa Yang Zong still needs to complete the final training of the Federation. In 20 17, she finished all the courses and finally made history.
"I am very excited, and all my struggles and efforts have been rewarded."
Since then, she has been working as a guide on the mountain. 20 19 climbed Mount Makaru, becoming the first Nepalese woman to climb the fifth highest mountain in the world. In the same year, she joined the North League as an athlete and explored with the team.
"Life is wonderful now. However, it is not easy to get to this step. "
This spring, Dawa Yang Zong joined the "Imagine Nepal" team and climbed Anna Poorna with Ma Min G without oxygen. Later, she climbed the Daolagiri and Luozi peaks.
This autumn, she and Ma Ming G climbed Mount Manaslu and set a women's speed record in the process. All these achievements were made when she injured her cruciate ligament while skiing last year.

Now, Dawa Yang Zong wants to help more female climbers. Recently, she took the girls to climb Yalongri Peak in Ruowa Mountain.

"I want these girls to know where I come from. I want to give them hope that if people in a remote mountain villa like me can achieve such achievements, so can they. "
Dawa Yang Zong said that she has been helping poor girls and hopes to help them with the money she got from Northern Group and other sponsors.
"I have been helped by many people, and now I want to repay the society."
