Seafarer training is a special training for seafarers' special occupations and skills in colleges and universities jointly organized by Maritime Safety Administration and Ministry of Communications, and it is an important measure to solve the shortage of seafarers. Training institutions are allowed to operate after strict examination and evaluation by the Maritime Safety Administration and the Ministry of Education. The Maritime Safety Administration will regularly or irregularly investigate and audit major institutions, and severely punish or revoke training qualifications for institutions that operate improperly or violate regulations.
After passing the on-campus training examination, you will get four certificates (basic safety, skilled first aid, advanced fire fighting and skilled boat and raft), radar and ARPA (without engine), GMDSS certificate (without engine and class C driver), sailor/mechanic duty certificate and big certificate. You can handle these documents with your ID card and household registration book, seaman's service book, seaman's certificate, health certificate and passport.
