The 2023 Shanghai Film Festival was held in Shanghai Grand Theatre.

On the evening of June 9, 2023, the 25th Shanghai International Film Festival opened at the Shanghai Grand Theatre. This year's Shanghai International Film Festival has five units: Golden Goblet Awards main competition unit, Asian newcomer unit, documentary unit, cartoon unit and short film unit, with 2/kloc-0 judges from 12 countries and regions.

2023 is the 30th anniversary of the birth of Shanghai International Film Festival. As the only A-class international film festival in China and Asia, the Shanghai International Film Festival has been adhering to the film orientation of "basing itself on Asia, paying attention to China and supporting new people" for 30 years, illuminating the dream pursuit of countless filmmakers.

The Shanghai International Film Festival has gradually formed a "6+ 1" ladder-like talent training system consisting of short videos, Jin Jue short films, venture capital training camps, venture capital for film projects, Jin Jue Asia New Talent Unit, and Golden Goblet Awards and SIFF Young Shanghai Young Filmmakers Support Program, so that young people who are interested in film can grow up with a way and their dreams will echo.

Shanghai International Film Festival closes

On June 8, 2023, the 25th Shanghai International Film Festival, which lasted for 10 days, came to a successful conclusion. On the evening of June 17, 2023, the Golden Jubilee Award for Best Film, Jury Award, Best Director and Best Actor and Actress was announced at the award ceremony.

In the 25th Film Festival, among the 53 works shortlisted for Golden Goblet Awards main competition unit, Asian newcomer unit, documentary unit, comic unit and short film unit, 36 were premiered in the world and 12 were premiered internationally.

In the end, 658km, Yoko's Journey, directed by Japanese director Kazuyoshi Kumakiri, won three awards for best film, best actress and best screenwriter, and became the biggest winner. China director Jiayin Liu's film "I'm glad you came" followed closely, winning two awards: best director and best actor. The film "The Sound of Ruins" from Spain won the best photography and jury award; "Looking for Her" directed by Chen Shizhong won the artistic contribution award.
