The so-called AED, or automated external defibrillator, can automatically monitor the heart rate and restore it to normal by electric shock when necessary. It has irreplaceable cardiopulmonary resuscitation function and can greatly improve the survival rate of patients with cardiac arrest.
The picture released by the subway company shows that the AED equipment on line 1 is bright orange, basically placed on the floor of the subway station (where the gate is located), which is very eye-catching. The installed AED equipment of Line 4 is placed on the platform floor (where the train is located), and the color is white. AED equipment in some stations is placed in front of the white background wall, which is not particularly conspicuous, such as Xidan station.

Beijing Metro said that it will further study and promote according to the actual situation of the station, and is inviting institutions including the Red Cross to assist in formulating the layout plan for installing AED equipment on subway lines.
According to the plan, before the end of the year, Beijing will also complete the AED configuration of all stations on Line 4, Line 2, 13, Daxing Line, Daxing Airport Line and Yanfang Line.
By the end of 20021,Beijing Metro Lines 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Capital Airport Line, Batong Line, 14, 16 and other 10 lines will be completed.
By the end of 2022, the remaining five lines-15, changping line, Yizhuang, Fangshan and S 1-will also be equipped with AEDs, which will cover all subway stations in Beijing. At the same time, new lines will be opened in 2020-2022, and AED equipment will be configured synchronously.
Although AED has voice prompts when it is used, it is called "fool-like" operation, but people who have never used it will still be worried. To this end, subway operators will conduct AED training for employees. By the end of 2022, it is estimated that the training and evidence collection rate of first-line station staff will reach over 80%. At present, more than 1700 people in Beijing rail transit network have obtained AED first aid certificates.
Previously, AED equipment had been installed in subways in Shanghai and Shenzhen. After the deployment of AED in Beijing Metro, only Guangzhou Metro has no AED among the four first-tier cities. The customer service of Guangzhou Metro told the interface news that it was preparing for the trial installation of AED.
According to incomplete data, AEDs are installed in subway stations in 20 of the 38 cities that have opened subways in the mainland, accounting for more than half of the total. These 20 cities are Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenyang, Dongguan, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Ningbo, Qingdao, Dalian, Suzhou, Changsha, Nanning, Hefei, Lanzhou, Chongqing, Chengdu, Changchun and Xuzhou.
But in these cities, not all subway stations are equipped with aed, and most cities are only equipped with AED in a few stations. The best ones are Shen, Ning and Xu, and all subway stations are equipped with AED equipment.
In order to ensure the timely and effective use of AED equipment, AED equipment in each subway station is placed in a prominent position in the station with obvious guiding signs. Instructions for use are posted on the AED, which is convenient for users to use according to the process. At the same time, the subway operator has formulated the management measures for the use of AED equipment in rail transit, and worked with manufacturers to refine the daily management, inspection and maintenance, use process and other specific matters of AED equipment to ensure that AED equipment is kept in good condition and plays a role in passenger accident rescue.
In addition to adding equipment, these AED equipment will be incorporated into the information system, and communication with the pre-hospital emergency command and dispatch system will be strengthened through information means. The emergency dispatch center can fully grasp the positioning and status of all AED equipment in the city. In the next step, the networking information of all AED devices in public places such as railway stations, subway stations, transportation hubs and parks will be summarized to form a city-wide AED map, so that citizens can know the location and availability of surrounding AED devices at the first time and effectively protect the lives of the general public.
"In theory, anyone can use AED, and there is no qualification threshold. Of course, we recommend trained personnel to use it. " He said that in case of emergency, citizens should first call the emergency number quickly, and then immediately inform the subway staff that they will start the corresponding emergency procedures.
These AED devices will be placed next to the staff duty area. At present, they have trained subway staff in first aid, and it will be more efficient for trained personnel to carry out rescue.
