The state implements the qualification system of registered architect for those who are engaged in self-designed comprehensive design, indoor and outdoor environment design, architectural decoration design, architectural restoration, architectural sculpture, structural design with special architectural requirements, architectural design technical consultation, architectural survey and appraisal, construction guidance and engineering supervision.
A registered architect refers to a person who has obtained the qualification certificate of a registered architect according to law and performs the business of a registered architect in an architectural design unit.
Grade II registered architect qualification examination results are valid for two years. Holders of a valid Certified Architect Qualification Certificate are eligible to apply for registration. Without registration, they shall not be called registered architects, and shall not engage in the business of registered architects.
Applicants who are granted registration shall be awarded the certificate of second-class registered architect uniformly printed by the Ministry of Construction by relevant institutions. At the same time, the corresponding level of special seal for practice will be issued. The "certificate" and "special seal" are common throughout the country.
Registered architects are designated by their architectural design units, and can carry out the business of registered architects anywhere in China according to law, without going through the registration formalities in different places again.
