Hengyang Normal School was founded in 1980. It is a full-time public school sponsored by Hengyang Municipal People's Government.
2. Leiyang Normal School.
Leiyang Normal School, founded in 1958, is a national key middle school sponsored by Hengyang Municipal People's Government and in charge of Hengyang Education Bureau, a demonstration secondary vocational school in Hunan Province, a provincial advanced collective, a provincial garden-style unit, a provincial comprehensive management model unit, a provincial civilized health unit and a national advanced unit of education and scientific research.
3. Hengyang Art School.
Hengyang Art School, formerly known as Hengyang Literature and Art School, was founded in May 1960. It is a local art vocational school and institution, and the competent department is Hengyang Municipal Bureau of Culture. 1May, 986, it was named "Hengyang Opera School" with the approval of Hunan Provincial People's Government, belonging to an ordinary secondary school. 1June, 1995, with the approval of the Hunan Provincial People's Government, it was upgraded to a deputy-level institution and renamed as "Hengyang Art School".
