College formerly known as Inner Mongolia Industrial School, founded in September, 1952, formerly known as Zhalantun Industrial School. In July, 1953 was renamed "Inner Mongolia Industrial School" with the approval of the Industry Department of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Government. 1August, 956, moved from Zhalantun to Hohhot. It is the first technical secondary school established in Inner Mongolia after the founding of New China. In May 2003, with the approval of the people's government of the autonomous region, it was independently upgraded to a higher vocational and technical college, renamed Inner Mongolia Vocational and Technical College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and attached to the Education Department of the autonomous region. In 2006, according to the unified requirements of the Party committee and government of the autonomous region, Inner Mongolia Water Conservancy School, which was originally established in 1956, was merged into Inner Mongolia Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology, which further expanded the school-running space and professional fields and significantly enhanced its school-running strength. Since its establishment 56 years ago, * * * has trained more than 27,000 graduates.
