School of Administration is a specialized institution set up by state administrative organs to train civil servants. According to the administrative affiliation, it can be divided into national administrative colleges and local administrative colleges at all levels.

The former focuses on training senior and middle-level civil servants in state administrative organs, while the latter focuses on training junior and middle-level civil servants in administrative organs. Administrative colleges are institutions directly under local party schools and municipal governments, with higher grades, engaged in cadre training and the like.

It has no right to award degrees and does not belong to the national education series. Its diploma is not recognized by the Ministry of Education, but it is still working in the evaluation of unit titles because it is a school run by the Party.
