From a practical point of view, as early as the 1990s, Johnson Space Center used VR technology to maintain and train Hubble telescope, while Boeing used VR technology to assist the pipeline design of Boeing 777.
At present, due to the depression of the real economy and the de-capacity of supply-side reform, China's industry is also facing transformation and upgrading, and the simulation application and visualization function of VR technology will give the industrial industry new opportunities and new development in the information age. China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "White Paper on VR Industry" clearly puts forward "promoting the industrialization of virtual reality technology through financial funds and supporting the application of virtual reality technology in key industries such as industry, culture and education". It can be predicted that VR technology will be more and more widely used in the industrial field.
In this context, Huili Ye Wei's "T4+" platform has been specially studied and has been successfully applied in chemical industry, manufacturing and other industrial fields. The following is a typical application of VR in the chemical industry, combined with our recently completed VR project for chemical enterprises.
Industrial planning and design
For a factory in the design stage, we use VR technology to transform the design drawings into a VR factory. As long as you wear the VR head display, anyone can have a bird's eye view of the whole factory from all angles, or walk into all floors to see the details of equipment and pipe network layout. On the one hand, designers can understand and discover the design deficiencies from the perception of the scene; On the other hand, users can feel the real architectural space in the virtual environment and make their own judgments.
Virtual factory display
Based on the construction drawings or real scenes of the chemical plant, we can establish a three-dimensional virtual reality scene to show the real face of the factory comprehensively and vividly, and can also be used for various publicity and exhibition purposes. Enterprises participating in exhibitions or arranging internal exhibition halls only need a set of VR equipment and more than a dozen flat display spaces, so that modern factories and advanced technologies can be perfectly displayed to customers. If combined with sensors, the system can also realize visual monitoring.
employee training
A reasonably designed VR scene can greatly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of employee training. By simulating the real factory environment and equipment pipe network, the training of employees can be carried out on the "spot" without obstacles. We can also simulate complex process flow, and display the internal conditions of reactors and pipelines that were invisible to the naked eye in a 3D visualization way, so that operators can see the process flow at a glance.
Emergency drill simulation
Chemical production enterprises will establish an emergency plan system and organize emergency drills regularly. When VR is applied to emergency drills, it can also play a very good role. Based on the real factory environment, using VR technology to simulate various event scenarios and interactions, participants can get an immersive drill experience. The content of the drill is presented in the form of independent cases, and employees with different responsibilities can choose corresponding cases to drill according to their needs.
