What is the duty of a swimming referee?
(1) The Chief Referee, under the leadership of the Federation, comprehensively leads and distributes the referee work.

(2) According to the spirit of rules and competition regulations, solve the relevant problems in the competition, and decide the problems that are not specified in detail or expressly in the rules, but cannot be modified.

(3) The chief referee can intervene in the competition at any time to ensure the implementation of the rules, and has the right to adjudicate all kinds of objections related to the competition.

(4) When the judges can't reach an agreement, the final decision can be made. When the final referee's ranking is inconsistent with the timekeeper's score, the referee has the right to decide the ranking.

(5) The referee who has made serious mistakes or is incompetent can be properly dealt with and suspended if necessary.

(6) According to my observation or other referees' reports, I have the right to disqualify the players who violate the rules.

(7) Before the competition, check whether the venue and equipment meet the requirements. If an automatic timing device is used, a special person shall be appointed to check whether the automatic timing device is accurate and available.

(8) At the beginning of each event and team competition, the chief referee should use continuous short whistle to signal the athletes to take off their coats; Then use the long whistle to signal the athletes to stand on their respective starting platforms, with their feet at the same distance from the front of the starting platforms (backstroke and medley relay events should immediately enter the water, and when the referee issues the second long whistle, the backstroke athletes should quickly swim back to the finish line to prepare for departure); When all the athletes are ready to start, the referee will notify the starter by hand. If the athletes are found to be scrambling for yards sporadically, the referee has the right to send a signal to recall the athletes.

(9) The results of each event and each group shall be signed by the chief referee and submitted to the reporter and recorder for publication.
