The Institute of Physical Education of Jiangxi Normal University is an earlier, larger and better physical education institute (department) in China. Its predecessor, Jiangxi Institute of Physical Education for Nationalities, was founded in 1936.

After the historical evolution of National Nanchang University, Jiangxi Institute of Physical Education, Jiangxi Normal University and Jiangxi Normal University, it is a sports college (department) with earlier history, larger scale and better conditions in China.

The college consists of five departments: physical education (provincial brand specialty), sports training, national traditional sports, social sports and sports performance, as well as the university physical education teaching and research section. Has the State Sports General Administration Key Laboratory and the State Sports General Administration Sports Culture Research Base;

National and provincial teaching and research platforms such as the National Social Sports Instructor Training Base of the State Sports General Administration, the National Youth Aerobics Training Center, the Physical Education Teacher Training Base of Jiangxi Sports Traditional Project School, and the Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Jiangxi Universities.
