In the final finale of Better Days, Chen Nian couldn't help pushing Wei Lai down the stairs to death. Xiaobei took the blame for Chen Nian, and the Yongzheng police officer who had already seen through everything finally let Chen Nian plead guilty in his own way. Chen Nian is a manslaughter, Xiaobei is burying his body, and both of them are minors and were given a light sentence. A few years later, Chen Nian became an English teacher in a training institution. Xiaobei still silently protects her behind her back, and they are finally together.

"Better Days" is a film based on the novel of September, directed by Ceng Guoxiang, starring Zhou Dongyu and Jackson Yee, and starring Yin Fang, Wu Yue, Zhao Runnan and Gao Gao. The film tells the story of how two teenagers who changed their fate because of a campus accident on the eve of the college entrance examination protected each other and became the adults they wanted to be.
