Hunan Art School, namely Hunan Changsha Art School, is an art secondary vocational school approved by Hunan Provincial Education Department and headed by Changsha Education Bureau. 1989 In the spring, Mr. Yang Yunan, an old teacher from Changjun County, founded the school, which was originally named "Changsha Zhongshan Secondary Vocational and Technical School". 1995 changed its name to "Hunan Zhixing Secondary Workers' Professional School" and was organized by the Hunan Intellectuals Association of the United Front Work Department of the Provincial Party Committee. In September, 2000, the school was officially renamed as "Hunan Changsha Art School" according to the Notice on Renaming 28 Schools issued by Hunan Provincial Department of Education.
