Librarian training
With the strengthening of China's economic strength and the vigorous development of education, the construction of primary and secondary school libraries has received unprecedented attention and development. Many schools have built new libraries, equipped with advanced functions, and realized computer management and network operation. The library industry has ushered in a new era of automation, specialization and digitalization. According to the requirements of the new curriculum reform in the new century and the new changes in school library management, librarians must change their ideas in time, constantly strengthen their own quality, master the advanced means of book management as soon as possible, and strive to provide quality services.

First, from "book-oriented" to "people-oriented", we should strengthen the awareness of educating people.

As the name implies, the librarian's main job is book management. In fact, in book management. Books are not the only ones, but readers are the first. Books are for readers, and serving readers is the center of library management. School is a place to educate people, reading is an important way to educate people, and the school library is the source of spiritual food for the healthy growth of teenagers. Good books are the rain that moistens things silently and the wind that makes Jiang Nanan green again. Teenagers are highly malleable, and good books can be their mentors and guiding lights. A librarian in the new century must not just stare at the bookshelf and bury himself in the pile of books, but always think about the needs of readers and care about the growth of students. This requires us to abandon the idea of "book position", establish the concept of "people-oriented", manage books well without forgetting to educate people, and manage books well must educate people. Under the current market economy situation, many unscrupulous booksellers only seek economic profits and ignore social benefits, resulting in a large number of vulgar or inferior pirated publications flooding the market. Therefore, the school library should first control the book acquisition and cataloging, put an end to books and bad books with no reading value, and let teenagers read books with healthy thoughts and full of sunshine, from which they can be influenced by the spirit and increase their knowledge. A more direct and effective way to educate library staff is to cooperate with schools to carry out a variety of reading activities, such as reading seminars, story meetings, reading clubs, reading essay competitions, speech competitions, debate competitions and so on. Libraries can organize reading groups, conduct book reviews, hold lectures, often introduce excellent books to students, and strengthen reading guidance. Students of different ages have different reading interests and spiritual needs. With the gradual maturity of students' physical and mental development, their spiritual life is constantly broadened, their understanding of society and life is constantly deepened, and their demand for reading will be adjusted accordingly. Librarians should grasp this changing law, strengthen reading guidance, and guide students to learn to analyze, appreciate, discard dross and absorb essence in reading activities, which is undoubtedly very beneficial to their ideological cultivation and quality shaping.

Second, from the "second classroom" to the "first classroom", the teaching ability needs to be improved.

In the past, everyone regarded the library as a "second classroom", and borrowing books from the library was "extracurricular reading", which was only an extension and supplement of classroom teaching. Now, with the new round of curriculum reform and the rise of research-based learning in China, subject teachers in many schools have moved the courses of Chinese reading, liberal arts integration, science integration and research-based special topics to the library. Some school libraries specially take out relevant collection materials for a certain topic and rearrange them into special bookshelves or counters for teaching needs. Some schools have librarians as teachers directly to introduce or guide students to consult relevant books around a certain topic. The library has evolved from the "second classroom" where students only read after class to the "first classroom" where students study. In view of this situation, it is necessary for librarians to actively cooperate with the new curriculum reform, learn to improve their professional ability and teaching ability at the same time, and undertake corresponding teaching tasks like teaching staff when necessary, so as to make the library a veritable "first classroom".

With the advancement of the personnel system reform in China's public institutions, it is necessary for librarians to have certain teaching ability, which is also the need of social development. In May, 2003, the Ministry of Education issued the new "Regulations for Libraries (Rooms) in Primary and Secondary Schools (Revised)", requiring middle school librarians to have a college education or above, "offer reading guidance courses and incorporate them into the teaching plan, and offer electronic reading guidance courses in schools where conditions permit", "provide reading guidance for students, and carry out library information education courses, books and library knowledge introduction, use methods of reference books, book selection, reading methods and methods. On the other hand, librarians who are familiar with teaching rules and have teaching experience can better understand the teaching needs of front-line teachers, and it is easier to provide quality services for teaching and learning. Familiar with both library management and teaching business, such all-round talents will surely make great achievements in the library field and become the backbone of promoting the development of library cause.

Three, from "card retrieval" to "electronic reading", we must master information technology.

At present, many school libraries have adopted modern management methods with computers as the core, and the information processing methods are highly automated, which greatly improves the quality and efficiency of book management. Take book retrieval as an example. In the past, it took a lot of manpower and time to establish a set of book card catalogues including title catalogue, classified catalogue and author catalogue, and it was also time-consuming in information retrieval, so it was difficult to find them all accurately. But now, it is time-saving and labor-saving to use computers to implement unified cataloging, and it can also be cataloged online to enjoy resources. Teachers and students can freely choose the title, author, classification and theme through computer literature retrieval, which is really fast, accurate and convenient. The establishment of electronic reading room has opened up a broad field of reading e-books. The extensive application of these advanced technologies in libraries urgently requires librarians to have strong information technology application ability. Only by mastering new technologies such as computer, multimedia, database and Internet, and being familiar with their basic principles and operating methods, can we better adapt to the book management in the new era. Using network technology, you can also effectively use and develop the information resources of your own library. For example, the homepage of our library is established, and columns such as library introduction, reader's guide, information inquiry, book reading and reader's mailbox are set up, so that the existing information and navigation retrieval of the library can be clear at a glance, and students can quickly find what they need.

Fourth, from "finding books for people" to "finding people for books", pioneering spirit is indispensable.

From passive "looking for books" to active "looking for people for books" to create a new service situation, we should not only understand the history and present situation of books and youth publications, but also collect relevant books and periodicals according to the teaching needs of the school, and also understand the reading psychology of readers and different types of readers, so as to recommend the most needed excellent books and periodicals to students. We should also be good at developing and utilizing the contents of books and periodicals in the collection, actively cooperate with the teaching of various disciplines, recommend relevant extracurricular reading materials to students, help students develop good reading methods and self-study ability through various activities, and stimulate and guide students' reading enthusiasm. An expert survey shows that under the background of the high prosperity of the film and television industry and the rapid development of the internet, teenagers spend more and more time indulging in watching TV, surfing the Internet and playing games after class, while less and less time calming down and inviting them to study. It's hard to imagine how people who don't like reading and don't read often can read good books. In view of this worrying phenomenon, we must try our best to attract students to the library and let them spend more time and energy reading good books. In addition, the school library will gradually open to the society without affecting the normal teaching, expand the utilization rate of book resources, and contribute to the construction of spiritual civilization in the community. Letting more people benefit from books is also an important measure to further develop the pioneering spirit and expand the awareness of active service in library work in the future.
