I used to go home in a hurry, but after several years, I don't care about everything around me. This year, I finally have leisure time, which makes me feel the fresh breath of my hometown. It can be said that times have changed and small cities are full of charming vitality and vigor.

A city with mountains and water should be a beautiful city. However, in my memory, every rainy season, the river overflows, and the seedlings and their surrounding areas, rice fields and crops are swallowed up by floods, and the hard work of farmers is always in vain. Residents living by the river can only watch their furniture soak in the water and ferry in and out every day, which is miserable. The density of residents in this city varies.

When I stayed at home with nothing to do, my mother suggested that I take a walk along the road by the river. After passing the intersection, a novel phenomenon attracted me-traffic lights. All passing vehicles strictly followed the traffic lights and did not violate any traffic rules. This may not be strange in big cities, but it is a huge change for small cities. Now that the traffic is orderly, people no longer worry about crossing the road.

When I came to Yanhe Road, I saw picturesque scenery. The banks of the Xinjiang River have been completely decorated. After careful transformation, high dams have been built on both sides of the river and various flowers and trees have been planted. The cobblestone path runs through them, and three or two people sit on the flat grass and relax. In an entertainment place, happy children are swinging and climbing stairs. More people are like us. Breathing fresh air, the mountains are close to the water, which makes people relaxed and happy. In front of a blueprint, we saw the night view of the park on both sides of the river, which was colorful and beautiful.

After returning to downtown, it is actually a brand-new feeling. Wide and clean streets are lined with high-rise buildings, and all kinds of monopoly shops and boutique supermarkets are all over the block. There are endless crowds shopping, busy buying new year's goods. With the improvement of people's living standards, all kinds of high-end goods are increasingly entering households, and more and more families are stepping into a well-off society.

Things are different, so are people. In a conversation with a junior high school teacher, I learned more about the renewal of urban people's mental outlook. Now people pay more and more attention to the importance of education. In order to give full play to the advantages of all kinds of schools, urban middle schools have changed the previous model of setting up only key middle schools, and schools only set up high schools or junior high schools, which is convenient for targeted centralized management and effective teachers. For adults, their initiative is also increasing. My teacher is a good example. At the beginning, he was a junior high school teacher, but after continuous study, he is now an excellent senior high school teacher and has published articles in World English. Many young people my age are not satisfied with their present knowledge, so postgraduate entrance examination has become a hot topic for them. I am no longer surprised that my neighbor's children greet me in English.

When I stood at the top of Tianqiao Mountain overlooking the scenery of this city, I was filled with emotion, and I couldn't help thinking of a sentence-if I don't advance, I will retreat. Everything is always in a state of constant change and progress, and now the speed of progress is even more amazing. As young people in the new century, we should be prepared for danger in times of peace, keep pace with the times, speed up our own pace, fully arm ourselves and meet more severe challenges.
