Shaoxing Art School, formerly known as Shaoxing Opera Art Training Class, was founded in 1980. After development and expansion, it was changed from 1998 to Shaoxing Art School, becoming an important base for secondary art education in Zhejiang Province. The school is located at No.500, Second Ring West Road, Shaoxing City. In the past 20 years, many graduates have won many awards in provincial and even national competitions.
Shaoxing Art School is located at the foot of Luting Mountain in Yin Shan, with elegant environment and convenient transportation. The school is located at No.500, Second Ring West Road, Shaoxing City. It is the only provincial key secondary art school in Shaoxing evaluated by the Provincial Department of Education. Founded in 1980, it was formerly Shaoxing Yue Opera Art Training Class. 1998 was renamed Shaoxing Opera Art School, and it was renamed Shaoxing Art School in April 2003. The school now offers opera, instrumental music, vocal music, dance, fine arts, kindergarten teachers and other majors, and the music major has become a municipal demonstration major. The school and Hangzhou Normal University jointly set up a junior college class for kindergarten teachers, with 675 junior college students. The school covers an area of140mu, with a total construction area of17000m2. It has perfect teaching and living facilities such as office building, cultural building, opera and dance art building, music building, concert hall, dormitory, library and sports area, and has become an art training area in Shaoxing. The school has art majors such as Yue Opera performance, Yue Opera music, opera martial arts, music and dance, which mainly recruit students from art secondary schools and art vocational high schools in the province, and train qualified professional artists for various professional art groups in the province. At the same time, the school also jointly organized a junior college class (correspondence) for drama majors with the participation of national first-class actors Wu Fenghua and Chen Fei. There are more than 400 students in the school. The school has a strong faculty. Among more than 30 in-service teachers, 8 have the title of deputy senior or above. The school also employs professors and experts from Shaoxing University of Arts and Sciences, Hangzhou Normal University and other universities and provincial art groups as part-time teachers. The school will grow and develop, and build a new school with a planned area of 100 mu and a construction area of nearly 20,000 square meters.
