If we want to learn basic skills in a down-to-earth manner, we should start from Tang Kai. After a long evolution, Tang Kai has become an unshakable Himalayan mountain in the history of calligraphy. There are many talented people among them, but besides famous calligraphers such as Ou Yangxun, Liu Gongquan and Yan Zhenqing, many scholars such as Yu Shinan and Chu Suiliang can all be chosen as personal goals. Beginners begin with the study and training of seal script. I see that adults have this kind of training at the end of this stage. Most separated adults followed Tang Kai to practice calligraphy gradually.
However, when I saw a calligraphy teacher teaching primary school students to practice calligraphy art, I advocated starting with seal script. I asked her what the reason was, and she said that for primary and secondary school students, I don't know how many words there are in block letters and seal scripts. Seal scripts are pictographic and can attract primary school students' interest in learning. The most important thing is that seal script can reasonably train the central defender to hold the pen, which is of great help to primary and secondary school students to learn and train the central defender with a pen.
Print and seal script can be closely trained. While training block letters, some simple seal script training can enable beginners to master the brushwork of the central defender in a large number. Many beginners have been training for a long time, but the strokes of Chinese characters are weak. The key point is that when training block letters, sometimes too much attention is paid to whether the head and tail are similar, but there is a lack in the training of central defenders.
