Guizhou Vocational College of Nursing was established on 20 17 with the approval of Guizhou Provincial People's Government and the record of Ministry of Education. Formerly known as Nursing School of Guizhou Provincial People's Hospital, it was founded in 1958, and was headed by Guizhou Provincial Health and Wellness Committee.

The college has two campuses, Jinhai and Huaxi, with a total area of 6 19.3 mu and a total of 77,308.4 ㎡ teaching and administrative rooms. The college has more than 600 faculty members, including 326 full-time teachers; Among the full-time teachers, there are 77 graduate students, 26 with senior titles and 83 with intermediate titles. There are more than 10000 full-time students. Since 2020, the employment rate of each graduate has stabilized at over 90%, and the passing rate of nursing examination has exceeded the national average by more than 40 percentage points.

At present, higher vocational colleges offer nine majors, including nursing, midwifery, rehabilitation technology, traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation technology, pharmacy, medical beauty technology, optometry technology, health management, intelligent health service and management for the elderly, among which nursing majors also include oral care, intensive care, elderly care and hospital feeling. Secondary vocational schools now offer three majors: nursing, midwifery and traditional Chinese medicine nursing.
