Agricultural education in schools began with Zhejiang Experimental Agricultural School founded by 1933. It has a number of integrated platforms such as Jinnong Animal Hospital, Jinnong Animal Hospital and Modern Garden Training Center, and is now a national quality school for revitalizing rural talents.

In 2023, the college launched a skills training program, aiming at cultivating students' learning ability, vocational skills and comprehensive quality, and promoting the coordinated development of students' knowledge, skills and quality.

Skills trainees enjoy the same high-quality teaching resources as ordinary full-time students, as well as the opportunity to evaluate and award and participate in skills competitions. Scholarships for outstanding students are awarded 28,000 yuan each year, and the proportion of scholarships is over 55%.
