Chuzhou was called Tuzhong, Liu Qing and Xinchang in ancient times. It is a city under the jurisdiction of Anhui Province, a member city of Nanjing Metropolitan Area, Hefei Metropolitan Area and Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration, the gateway of Nanjing to the north, a national Wanjiang demonstration zone, a regional central city in eastern Anhui, and an important hub city in Jianghuai area.
