What kind of books writers should read more, and ask for recommendations.
I am a graduate of the Film Academy, and I have worked as a screenwriter and director for many years. Here are my suggestions:

1 The Story-This book is known as the Bible for screenwriters all over the world. This book is a theoretical book. I may not understand it at first time, but it will be very useful in later writing exercises. I suddenly realized that the words inside will always be the soul and foundation of the screenwriter.

The author of The Writer's Journey explores and summarizes a habit of reading stories by studying myths around the world. The basic law of his storytelling in the collective unconscious of human beings is very useful, and Hollywood directors such as george lucas and Spielberg all benefit from this system.

3 "Save the Cat"-This book is a reference book, which is very practical and suitable for reading while writing stories. There are many creative techniques and basic steps, including specific script format, story type elements, story line setting rules and so on. Just like mathematical formulas, there are also steps to solve problems, which is very suitable for getting started. In addition, this book is divided into 1, 2 and 3 volumes. The first volume is the basic skills and methods, the second volume is the specific learning of story types, and the third volume is about some rules and skills of entering the scriptwriting industry, but I personally think that the scriptwriting industry in Hollywood is for reference only.

4 "Start Writing"-this book is to expand reading, and it is some experience and training skills of famous screenwriters in Hollywood and around the world, which is very helpful to raise awareness.

As the name implies, the book "Screenplay Cultivation" is to exercise one's self-cultivation and can be used for extended reading.

Another script software is recommended: celtx, which is the most popular script software in Hollywood. There is a standard Hollywood script format, but the English interface needs a certain English foundation. Come on! Wish you success!
