First of all, the biggest problem for TCFL teachers at present is whether they can find a job, not whether they have a certificate.
In recent years, various certificate training institutions in China have trained tens of thousands of certified Chinese teachers. However, certificate training institutions can train and research, but they can't really solve the employment problem. The so-called "after research, you can recommend to a cooperative Chinese teaching platform for employment" is just to package and send students' resumes to some Chinese teaching platforms, and the platforms receive thousands of similar resumes every month, so the success rate of recommending employment is tantamount to finding a needle in a haystack, and there is no real guarantee. There are also some institutions that insist that students obtain certificates before recommending employment. In fact, even the current Hanban project only means that you may need a certificate in the future, but you don't need a certificate now. Certificate is a plus item at most, not a mandatory item. Those organizations that repeatedly require certificates to recommend and work are usually "delaying tactics" and cannot really recommend employment. Because it will take about a year or two from registration to license, and then you will ask them to recommend employment. Whether the other party recognizes it or not is a problem, not to mention that the institution does not guarantee how long it can recommend it after obtaining the certificate. Similar training institutions are not responsible for Sao operation, resulting in a large number of Chinese teachers who have certificates and do not work.
Secondly, the certificate is not a stepping stone, but a real Chinese teaching ability and rich Chinese teaching experience.
When foreigners choose a Chinese teacher in a Chinese teaching institution, they generally don't look at the certificate of the Chinese teacher, but ask the teacher to give a trial lecture on Chinese teaching, and they can sign up for study after passing the trial lecture. Therefore, when recruiting Chinese teachers, real Chinese teaching institutions do not pay attention to what certificates candidates have, but ask for trial lectures. Only candidates with real Chinese teaching ability and rich Chinese teaching experience can be hired after probation. Therefore, the certificate is not a stepping stone for Chinese teachers to apply, but a real Chinese teaching ability and rich teaching experience. Those who say that certificates are a stepping stone to the education industry in China are all certificate training institutions.
Moreover, the training method based on textual research lacks the cultivation of practical teaching ability and cannot really meet the requirements of Chinese teaching.
At present, the teaching and training of Chinese as a foreign language industry is basically for textual research. Most of the Chinese teachers who participated in the training, even without teaching foreigners, obtained the so-called international Chinese teacher's certificate. Just like drivers who got their driver's license without driving, they had no theoretical level, real Chinese teaching practice ability and teaching experience, and could not meet the real Chinese teaching requirements. A large number of teachers with short certificates can't successfully apply for suitable positions with their own teaching ability, and real Chinese teaching institutions can't find excellent teachers with high teaching ability and rich teaching experience.
