Northeast Petroleum University (formerly known as Northeast Petroleum Institute and Daqing Petroleum Institute) is located in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, and was founded in 1960. It is a university that focuses on engineering, with the coordinated development of engineering, science, management, literature, economics, law, teaching and art. 1978 has been identified as one of the 88 national key universities. The school is a high-level university jointly established by Heilongjiang Province, China Petroleum and Natural Gas Group Corporation, China Petrochemical Group Corporation and China Offshore Oil Corporation, and it is a key construction university in Heilongjiang Province.
