Li Tang Art School was founded in 1998. Li Tang, the headmaster, loved calligraphy since childhood. He received higher education in the Calligraphy Department of China Academy of Fine Arts and won many high prizes in national calligraphy competitions. He is now a member of China Hard Pen Calligraphers Association, deputy secretary-general of Zhejiang Hard Pen Calligraphers Association and director of children's work department, a member of Zhejiang Young Calligraphers Association and a special lecturer of Xiling Yinshe Culture and Art Museum. In view of Mr. Li Tang's many years of calligraphy teaching experience and unique teaching methods, in 2006, the Zhejiang Children's Calligraphy Teaching Experimental Base and the Children's Work Department of Zhejiang Hard Pen Calligraphers Association were established in the art school founded by the Provincial Hard Pen Calligraphers Association in Li Tang. Up to now, nearly 2,000 students of Li Tang Art School have received calligraphy training, and a large number of students stand out. In the "2008 Xiaoshan District Primary and Secondary School Students' Live Calligraphy Competition", Wu Mengyuan won the first prize in the primary school group, and many students such as Lin won the second and third prizes.
