Po is not a farmer or a "shepherd boy". He works in a well-known state-owned enterprise in Datong, Shanxi, and is quite famous locally.

It is said that Po's parents are employees, and his family life is not so poor, so Po has never herded sheep before. When studying at school, Po also received professional music training.
