Exploration on the Cultivation of Young Teachers' Teaching Literacy in Colleges and Universities

Abstract: The teaching quality of young teachers in colleges and universities directly affects the quality of personnel training. Young teachers in colleges and universities should have advanced teaching ideas, good teaching feelings, tireless teaching will and reform-oriented teaching behavior, that is, teaching literacy in four aspects: knowledge, emotion, will and action. We can optimize pre-job training by attaching importance to pre-job training; Strengthen on-the-job training and improve teaching level; Reform the evaluation system, lead the growth of teachers and improve the teaching quality of young teachers.

[Paper Keywords] teaching quality of young teachers in colleges and universities

Teaching literacy refers to the classroom situational knowledge and related knowledge that teachers should have in order to realize purposeful teaching behavior. Accurate and scientific implementation of teaching is the basic quality of teachers. It is mainly manifested in the ability of teachers to design teaching, plan activities, implement teaching, and cope with the generation and solution of real-time problems. Young teachers in colleges and universities (generally under 35 years old) are the main force of teaching, and their teaching quality directly affects the quality of talent training.

Young and middle-aged teachers in colleges and universities account for a large proportion. According to the statistics of the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Education, there were 965,800 full-time college teachers in China in 2005. In the same year, the proportion of college teachers under the age of 30 was 29.32%, and the proportion under the age of 40 was 65.23%. Young teachers in colleges and universities have the advantages of high academic level, solid basic theoretical knowledge, easy integration with students, and strong modern teaching skills, but they also have some shortcomings, such as lack of education and teaching experience, attaching importance to knowledge imparting and neglecting education, and weak adaptability. Therefore, it is urgent to strengthen the cultivation of young teachers' teaching quality in colleges and universities.

First, the teaching quality that young teachers in colleges and universities should have

The author believes that the teaching qualities that young teachers in colleges and universities should possess mainly include the following aspects:

1 knowledge: advanced teaching concept. Teaching concept directly affects the teaching methods and means adopted by young teachers and their attitude towards students. Professor Yan Liang believes that the teaching process under the modern educational concept is a process of de-patterning; Teaching process is a process of discovering, discovering and constructing various relationships. Intuition and experience should be brought into full play in teaching; The process of teaching is to help students form their own experience and multiple views of truth; Teaching should be expressed in the form of art; The process of teaching is to return to life and let students give full play to their creativity. Therefore, only when young teachers have advanced teaching concepts can they truly take students as the center, respect the true value of life and urge students to constantly surpass themselves in the learning process.

Emotion: Good teaching emotion. Some researchers have combed and summarized the research results of various behaviors in the classroom in the past 25 years, and pointed out that efficient teaching includes the following eight aspects:

(1) classroom atmosphere;

(2) classroom management;

(3) clarity of the teaching process:

(4) Diversification of teaching methods;

(5) the orientation of teaching objectives;

(6) Students participate in the classroom;

(7) the success of learning;

(8) High-quality thinking ability.

High-quality thinking ability is embodied in critical and logical thinking and the thinking process when solving problems. Teaching emotion is of great significance for efficient teaching, especially for creating a good classroom atmosphere. Specifically, young teachers in colleges and universities should have the following teaching emotions and main functions:

First, love teaching and lay the foundation for successful teaching. Ding Zhaozhong said that because he loves scientific research, he can stay in the laboratory for two days and two nights, or even three days and three nights, by the instrument, eager to discover what he wants to explore. Only by loving teaching can young teachers overcome the impetuousness of quick success and instant benefit, and strive to make teaching a lifelong career, not just a tool for making a living.

Second, teaching is full of passion to infect students. Teaching is a bilateral activity of teacher-student interaction, and emotions are contagious and transmitted. Only when teachers are full of passion can they infect students, arouse their teaching enthusiasm and create a good classroom atmosphere.

Third, love students, respect students and stimulate their potential. Young teachers in colleges and universities should be good teachers and friends of students, fully respect students, treat others equally, carry out appreciation education and fully tap their own potential. Max Van Menan believes that many of a person's talents are discovered by others, and he may not realize it, but once discovered by others, it becomes the characteristics of this person and the advantages of this person. If a person can give full play to his own advantages, then he is a very capable and irreplaceable person.

Therefore, young teachers in colleges and universities should take advantage of their age to guide, help and inspire students, and let them know themselves, awaken their lives and make them more free and complete by means of "moistening things silently" and "turning spring breeze into rain".

3 Meaning: Have tireless teaching will. In college teaching, a tireless teaching will is an important guarantee to do a good job in teaching. Confucius, 63, once described himself like this: "You forget to eat when you are angry, but forget your worries when you are happy. I don't know that my old age is coming. " "One minute on the stage, ten years off the stage", because of the lack of teaching experience, young teachers should restrain their behavior with strong will in teaching, prepare lessons carefully, attend classes and correct homework. In university teaching, how to design teaching content is the most basic accomplishment that young teachers should have, and it is also the fundamental guarantee for good classes. In addition, young teachers should insist on combining teaching with scientific research. Due to the disadvantages of the evaluation and employment mechanism of professional titles in colleges and universities, young teachers also tend to pay more attention to scientific research than teaching. James Dudesta said that teaching and academic achievements are closely linked and complementary, and the combination of the two is the key to the success of the American higher education system. Students' curriculum evaluation reflects that, in general, the best scholars are also the best teachers. Therefore, young teachers in colleges and universities must effectively combine teaching and scientific research, so that teaching and scientific research can promote each other and develop together.

The fourth line: holding the teaching behavior of being determined to reform. For young teachers, their growth generally goes through several stages of development, such as adaptation, growth and maturity, and each stage of development has its own different characteristics. If young teachers want to show themselves in all directions and stand out from the crowd in the teaching process, they need to accumulate experience in different stages of development, constantly ponder and improve, and constantly innovate their teaching behavior, that is, conduct reflective teaching. Reflective teaching refers to the process in which teaching subjects constantly explore and solve their own problems, teaching purposes and teaching tools with the help of action research, combine "learning to teach" with "learning to learn", strive to improve the rationality of teaching practice, and make themselves become scholar-type teachers. Reflective teaching includes reflection on teaching contents and teaching strategies. In the process of reflective teaching, we should pay attention to personalized teaching and finally form our own teaching style.

Second, the basic path to improve the teaching quality of young teachers

1 Pay attention to and optimize pre-job training.

In view of the current situation that young teachers' teaching literacy is not high, colleges and universities should attach importance to pre-job training and the cultivation of young teachers' teaching ability. Judging from the current situation, most of the new teachers' pre-job training is carried out under the unified leadership of the education authorities, and the pre-job training tasks are specifically undertaken by provincial university teacher training centers or local qualified universities. According to the "Guidelines for Pre-job Training in Colleges and Universities", the training contents include higher education, higher education psychology, teachers' professional ethics, higher education laws and regulations, etc. , using unified teaching materials, adopting centralized teaching and amateur self-study, with a total class time of not less than 1 10. After the training, the training effect will be tested in the form of closed book. In order to improve the teaching quality of young teachers, it is necessary to reform the pre-service training, so as to enrich the content of pre-service training, from paying attention to the basic theory of education to improving teaching skills. Change from traditional teaching methods to diversified teaching methods; By observing excellent teachers' demonstration classes and evaluating new teachers, we can enrich our educational theoretical knowledge and improve our teaching practice skills.

2. Strengthen on-the-job training and improve teaching level.

In order to shorten the process of young teachers' teaching from the exploratory period to the mature period, a tutorial system for young teachers is established at the beginning of teaching, and middle-aged and elderly teachers with strong teaching ability are arranged as young teachers' tutors to guide young teachers' teaching in all directions from preparing lessons, attending classes and evaluating classes. In order to improve the enthusiasm of tutors, it is necessary to strengthen the assessment of tutors and young teachers and give appropriate rewards and punishments according to the assessment results. Establish and improve the annual young teachers' lecture competition system to improve the teaching ability of young teachers; Adopt flexible and diverse training forms to send young teachers out for further study, increase their knowledge, broaden their horizons and encourage them to continue lifelong learning.

3. Reform the evaluation system to lead the growth of teachers.

First, in the evaluation of teachers' professional titles, teachers' scientific research ability and teaching ability should be considered together and included in the evaluation system.

Secondly, in the evaluation index system, in addition to evaluating teachers' basic teaching literacy, we should also integrate modern educational concepts into teaching evaluation indicators, pay attention to teachers' guidance and promotion of students, and cultivate students' critical thinking ability.

Thirdly, the closed evaluation scale and the open questionnaire are combined to evaluate teachers in all directions, and the evaluation results are fed back to teachers in time to promote their healthy growth.
