Areca nut industry is an industry that Hainan chooses to focus on. Around the development of betel nut industry, Hainan has set up special funds. Hainan has implemented the green transformation project of betel nut drying. In 20 13-20 15, Hainan provincial finance allocated1418,000 yuan to subsidize 8 cities and counties, including Wanning, to build 2,640 sets of standards and 227 large-scale production lines with an annual processing capacity of 700,000 tons.

In order to stabilize the price of betel nut and increase farmers' income, Hainan Provincial Department of Agriculture implemented the trial of betel nut price index insurance in Wanning City on 20 16, with a premium of 5 million yuan and a subsidy of 80%, that is, 4 million yuan. In 20 17, the "agricultural insurance loan" project was implemented. By the end of 20 18, there were 43 "agricultural insurance loans" projects involving betel nut industry, which can be downloaded by Baidu.

In 20 18, the provincial forestry bureau made full use of the demonstration fund project of forestry scientific and technological achievements promotion of the central finance, supported the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences to promote the new betel nut variety "Reyan 1", and carried out the training of improved varieties and strong seedlings, the construction of high-yield demonstration gardens and high-yield cultivation techniques, so as to make a good technical reserve for large-scale planting in the future.
