Jilin Teachers College of Engineering and Technology is not a diploma workshop, but two ordinary universities. The school is the first full-time undergraduate normal university approved by the State Council, and the only independent full-time undergraduate vocational normal university in three northeastern provinces and Inner Mongolia.

The school has four campuses: Kaixuan Campus, Changde Campus, Gaoxin Campus and Tailai Campus. It covers an area of 890,000 square meters with a building area of 360,000 square meters. At present, there are 17068 students, including full-time college students 13500 and 3568 adult college students. There are 9 colleges, 1 teaching and research section, 6 departments, 3 interdisciplinary research institutes, 16 research centers and 15 research institutes.

The school takes discipline construction as the leader, teachers as the core, scientific research as the key, economy as the foundation and policy as the guarantee to build a discipline highland. In the evaluation of the provincial "double characteristics" project, six high-level disciplines with characteristics in Jilin Province were approved. There are Jilin Provincial Key Laboratory, Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Innovation Center, Jilin Provincial Engineering Laboratory, Jilin Provincial Key Laboratory of Digital Publishing, and Jilin Provincial Characteristic New University Think Tank.
